Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA®) in Dementia Care

What is GPA Basics?

“GPA Basics is an innovative dementia care education curriculum based on a person-centred care approach. Designed for interdisciplinary point of care staff across healthcare sectors, GPA Basics is delivered as four modules over a 7.5-hour day [and facilitated by a GPA Certified Coach]. It is available in an in-person classroom option and in some organizations it may also be available in a virtual (online) option.”

What is GPA eLearning?

“GPA eLearning is a new online program from AGE that is producing exceptional results. Made up of key content from the
GPA Basics Curriculum, it is delivered via short video tutorials from the 4 modules in a GPA Basics Education session.”

What is Integrated GPA (iGPA)?

“Integrated GPA (iGPA) is our blended GPA learning program, a flexible alternative to GPA Basics. It consists of a half day of GPA eLearning followed by a half-day of in-classroom learning (traditional or virtual online classroom option available) that builds on your GPA eLearning and takes place no more than a few weeks after the GPA eLearning session.”

What is a GPA Certified Coach?

“The GPA Certified Coach In-House Champion Model is [suitable primarily for large organizations]. An organization sponsors its own in-house GPA Certified Coach(es), allowing it to facilitate staff GPA training and refresher sessions on demand.”
